This is part of an inscription on a ring, dated 1914. The ring is very small, made of white metal with an Iron Cross engraved and colored Black. The balance of the inscription- in english - can be translated - "To show loyalty to the old fatherland ("in schwzeu" and "cold") I give him this iron"What is the translation from the german to english of - " in schwzeu " and "cold".?
these are not German words, you must have read/ written something wrong.
you will have to give a photo of the inscription to get an useful translation.
maybe it is the iron cross ring that was (I believe) of ww I with the inscription:
"Dem alten Vaterland die Treue zu beweisen, gab ich in schwerer Zeit ihm Gold f眉r dieses Eisen."
"to show loyalty to the old fatherland, I gave him in hard times gold for this iron"
