Need TRUE English to German translation, please!?

I am attempting to find the correct translation for the word "BROKEN," (into pieces, un-repairable etc)

I am having a hard time finding what I'm looking for with so many different translators online, I have yet to find the same answer twice.

Anyone out there who actually speaks German, fluently??

All of my German family have passed.

Thanks!!!Need TRUE English to German translation, please!?
The very simplest word you could use to describe something that is broken is, in fact, "gebrochen." However, if you can stand to be a little bit informal, "kaputt" is equally as common. Of course translators will give you a million other synonyms (which can be frustrating,) but you can't go wrong with these two!Need TRUE English to German translation, please!?
